in which for love or money...

i'm driving into an snow/ice/rain storm this afternoon? buh? it's been so darn mild in Upstate New York (cold, sometimes, but we haven't had a serious storm yet), and i sometimes forget i cross three or four weather zones on my way to Boston.

i wish i'd been able to sleep longer. i woke up far too early this morning for someone who did five hours of massage yesterday.

my shoulders are pretty achy. i can't say i'm all that sad i gave away a treatment package for this morning, after my second client agreed to come in earlier in the day so that i could leave Syracuse a bit earlier this afternoon. i mean, i'll miss the money, but the coworker i gave it to (by all accounts) really needs the money. and did i mention my shoulders are all achy? plus the general getting to Boston earlier and more safely... if it means i don't have to rush, drive like an eedjit through ice and snow.

of course i'll miss the money. i'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that i spent $120 on a pair of sneakers on Tuesday. i really needed new sneakers (i wore a hole clean through my last pair) and i bought a pair of running shoes with the idea that i was going to start running again. work, however, has been sporadic, especially for January. luckily we're coming to the Holy Grail of massage therapists (Valentine's Day) and then a chair massage event we do every year that usually nets me a bit of cash. i got my 1099 for last year, and it's somewhat good news that my income is holding steady around 18-19K.

at least my poverty is predictable. ;) *wry grin*

lastly, i was demoted from someone's Most Favorite Person to Third Favorite Person in under a minute. luckily i was already on my way out the door to get a mocha latte from Tim Horton's; it soothed the sting.

and he's lucky i love him anyway.
