i've been having more incredibly weird - but real-feeling - dreams (again).
--
the night before last it was of my ex - dressed up like a magician - doing some sort of act at a Renaissance Faire, which consisted of him standing in front of a freezer full of frozen chickens. only the chickens were still alive, which i proved when i pulled one out (or it was handed to me) and it started clucking and moving its head the way chickens do.
i petted its feathers and made soothing noises, and then i suddenly released it; because i just couldn't return it to him, knowing it was doomed to be stuck back into the freezer. it ran off, dodging this way and that, as the ex tried in vain to chase it down.
although decidedly odd symbolism, not a lot of explaination required there.
--
this morning i ended up in a car with a few friends, and someone who is not really a friend anymore. the latter was driving, and - even though i knew i needed to get home - i ended up going to this not-a-friend-anymore's house; i was having fun, and wanting to hang out with everybody.
the house was a maze of shelves and hallways, windows between rooms and false doorways, stairways that went sideways and support beams in the oddest places; i ended up having to smash through a piece of wall to get back to my friends, to tell them i really needed to leave.
still, part of me obviously didn't want to go, since i ended up curling up on a sleeping bag on the living room floor and trying to go to sleep (BTW, it's very weird to be lucid, and realize that you're trying to go to sleep in a dream). across the room from me, curled up on the sofa, lay the person who's not a friend any more, watching me from mostly-closed eyes, pretending to be asleep. although, to be fair, i was sort of doing the same thing to him.
again, strange symbolism, fairly obvious meaning.
